Because Bear already supported multiple themes, though, you can use a lighter theme while your Mac is set to Dark Mode, or vice versa.
AIRMAIL FOR MAC REVIEW 2018 UPDATE
Among other things, this week's update adds a new "dark graphite" theme that the app automatically switches to when you enable Dark Mode. Bearīear has always had a variety of light and dark themes for users who shell out for a subscription. The default text is bright white on black, and it doesn't look like you can make changes there just yet if you want something a little less bright. It looks particularly nice when viewing photos. One of the best journaling apps for the Mac and iOS was just optimized for Mojave and Dark Mode. Keep your eyes on this post, as we'll add more as time goes on. Here's the first apps we've noticed so far, and there will surely be more to come. This list isn't comprehensive in the least, but we're keeping our eyes on the Mac App Store and Twitter to see what apps have been updated. But apps that aren't updated stick out like a sore thumb - so the faster key apps get updated, the better. While it doesn't make any functional difference, it's a nice visual redesign that a lot of users might prefer to the older Mac UI. Probably one of the changes Mac users want to see first and foremost is support for Dark Mode. Thankfully, there are some obvious ways in which Airmail can defend against these types of exploits so hopefully there will be an update released promptly that addresses the attack vectors. It's been a few weeks since Apple announced that macOS Mojave would launch today - in that time, many app developers have been at work getting their creations ready for the new OS. Some scary warning like ‘Click here to see an important message from your bank’ would be enough to encourage many people to click through. If this was exploited in the real world, the malicious link would likely be disguised by some sort of phishing email. The attackers identified a related vulnerability that would remove the required user interaction step altogether, but they could not execute it reliably. This particular attack also will not work if the name of the account is renamed from the default. For a start, an attacker has to know that someone is using Airmail, and has to get the recipient to click on a link in the email they have sent in order for it to work. It is a pretty big security problem as it stands, although there are some mitigations to consider. You can create a link that uses the Airmail URL scheme such that when it is tapped by the recipient, it sends a new email to the ‘hacker’ that attaches all of the mail messages from the user. An unscrupulous attacker can combine these two pieces of information together. They also discovered that the mail database where Airmail stores the email messages for an account are located in a ‘deterministic’ location in the file system. Essentially, the researchers noticed that Airmail registers a custom URL scheme that can autonomously send an outbound email with particular content and attachment data.

You can read the full breakdown of the vulnerabilities on the Versprite blog. With a combination of technical exploit and phishing attack, it seems like a significant problem. The attack requires a user to open a maliciously crafted email and tap a link inside the message. Security researchers at Versprite have identified security flaws in Airmail for Mac that can expose private data, including an entire account’s email database.
